Release Log
What shipped, and why
Story Trail ships every week. This is the log: what we built, why we built it, and who it's for — across the walking app, the historian tools, and the trails themselves.
- 19 Oct 2026 A calmer home for everything The AR notice board now stands at the waypoint and is easier to see, new sign-ups land on the map, historians can move a photo to another stop and get notified when trails are published, and the whole platform moved onto one new home behind the scenes.
- 9 Oct 2026 A study becomes a shared project Historians can now invite each other into a study, print a QR code poster for a published trail, and work in a rebuilt workspace that fits a phone, while the iPhone app gets ready for its first App Store listing, with honest walking distances and times and the made-up star rating gone.
- 2 Oct 2026 The model steps out of the photo A waypoint's 3D model can now pop out of its AR notice board, narration sounds like it's coming from the board itself, the follow-map turns with you, a long-running AR heading error finally gets its real cause, and Story Trail opens its published trails to AI assistants — while historians get a GPU they can wake themselves and 3D models that finally show their colours in AR.
- 25 Sep 2026 AR walking mode finds its bearings AR walking mode gets rebuilt around a string of real outdoor test walks — an anchored route, on-brand visuals, a fixed heading bug, and optional Apple geo-anchoring for pinpoint placement — walkers now sign in before starting a trail, and Suburb Historian's map sync and intro-narration writing pick up fixes of their own.
- 18 Sep 2026 The notice board moves into AR AR walking mode gets a real notice board and its first real-device test walk, trail narration learns to open with a scene-setting intro, and Suburb Historian's workspace picks up a walk-readiness score and a four-column region view built around watching real people use it.
- 4 Sep 2026 The 3D editor learns to take instructions Suburb Historian's 3D scene editor picks up a chat panel that understands plain-language edit commands, the walking app's photo gallery and follow-map go properly interactive, and a week-long accuracy push straightens out SAM3D's object layouts.
- 28 Aug 2026 Waypoints get their first AR-ready models A new GLB→USDZ pipeline turns Suburb Historian's 3D models into something ARKit can actually load, waypoints learn to research their own surroundings, and a stale-references bug gets fixed at the source.
- 26 Aug 2026 The pipeline drafts the walk between stops Suburb Historian's research pipeline now writes a first-pass approach story for every waypoint, grounded in real nearby landmarks — and tells you the moment that draft goes stale.
- 25 Aug 2026 Turn-by-turn walking mode arrives The walking app grows a compass, a notice board, and a voice — and goes into App Review.
